According to the report of Chiang Mai Zoo, Lin Hui, a giant panda living in Thailand, unfortunately passed away at 1:10 a.m. local time on 19 April 2023. On 18April, Lin Hui experienced symptoms of discomfort. Staff of Chiang Mai Zoo paid close attention to it, and actively treated it under the guidance of experts from the China Giant Panda Conservation Center. Lin Hui finally passed away despite all treatment. During the rescue process, the Consulate General of China in Chiang Mai assigned personnel to the zoo to coordinate and follow up relevant work. It was reported that experts from China and Thailand would launch a joint investigation into the cause of Lin Hui's death soon, and do their best to handle the aftermath. Lin Hui was born in September 2001 and arrived in Chiang Mai in October 2003. Over the past 20 years in Thailand, Lin Hui has been deeply loved by the Thai people and has become an envoy of friendly exchanges between the people of China and Thailand.
