From August 8 to 9, Consul General Chen Haiping visited Chiang Rai Province, where he met with Governor Charin Thongsuk and heads of the Chiang Rai Commercial Office, the Immigration Bureau, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand stationed in Chiang Rai. He also inspected local coffee and tea cultivation and production.

Consul General Chen commended Chiang Rai Province for actively advancing practical cooperation with China in trade, culture, and education, and for placing high importance on safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in Thailand. He stated that, taking the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, also known as the "Golden Jubilee of Thailand - China Friendship," he would maintain close contact with Chiang Rai Province to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. This would include expanding friendly exchanges between Chinese provinces and cities and Chiang Rai, strengthening cooperation in border trade investment, Chinese language education, law enforcement, and security, and further solidifying the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future. Consul General Chen exchanged views with Governor Charin and others on enhancing regional connectivity through highways, waterways, and railways, promoting tourism development cooperation, and extending preferential policies for border trade.

During his visit, Consul General Chen also inspected the cultivation, production, and sales of coffee and tea in the mountainous areas of Chiang Rai.
