On July 18, Consul General Chen Haiping attended the opening ceremony of the "UFO Love, China-Thailand Family" 2025 UFO shooting sports China-Thailand friendship tournament Chiang Mai station. Attendees included Chiang Mai Province; National Shooting Sports Association of Thailand; Thai Military-Police Shooting Association; Chongqing Municipal Sports Bureau; Chinese and Thai clay target shooters; and representatives from relevant organizations.

After receiving an event briefing, Consul General Chen stated: "Over more than a decade since Chongqing and Chiang Mai established sister-city relations, the Chongqing and Chiang Mai twin cities have achieved fruitful cooperation outcomes in economy, trade, culture, technology, and other fields, becoming a model for subnational exchanges between China and Thailand." He emphasized that hosting this shooting friendship match during the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations – the "Golden 50 Years of China-Thailand Friendship" – demonstrates "building friendships through marksmanship and conveying affection through clay discs," vividly interpreting the fraternal spirit of "China-Thailand Kinship."

Chen expressed hope that both sides would continue diversified cooperation including mutual visits, joint training, and technical seminars to build cross-border bonds of friendship through sports and cultural exchanges. He thanked friends from all sectors for their care and support of China-Thailand friendship and wished the event complete success.
