Starting from 9 December 2019, those who hold ordinary passports issued by Thailand and other foreign countries, please go to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Chiang Mai to submit their applications for Mainland Chinese visas, Hong Kong and Macao visas and Chinese consular legalization. The Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai will no longer directly take such applications. However, all applications will still be approved and issued by the Chinese Consulate General which has the right to request applicants to supplement documents or request them to proceed to the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai for interviews.
For diplomatic or official passport holders, or those who apply for Chinese diplomatic, courtesy or official visas, please still submit their applications directly to the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai. At the same time, the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai will continue to take applications for notarization, passports, and travel documents.
