Consul General Wu Zhiwu Delivers Video Speech at Chiang Mai China-Thailand Investment Forum

    On November 22, Consul General Wu Zhiwu  delivered video speech at the China-Thailand Investment Forum held in Chiang Mai. Governor of Lamphun Province Mr. Worayut Naowarat, Vice Governor of Chiang Mai Province Mr. Ratapol Naradisorn, and Vice Chairman of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization Ms. Wiphawan Woraputtipong as well as representatives from nearly 20 Chinese-funded enterprises from Bangkok including DTL Law Office and Great Wall Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., attended the forum.

    

    Consul General Wu Zhiwu stated that,the 6th Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China adopted the "Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Party's Major Achievements and Historical Experience in a Century of Struggle", reaffirming the concept of affinity, sincerity and inclusiveness and the neighboring diplomatic policy of building good partnership with neighbors. China will continue to build a new development pattern, expand high-level opening up, actively encourage enterprises to go overseas, and use its own development to build greater markets and create greater opportunities for countries in the world, including ASEAN. As the Belt and Road Initiative and the Mekong – Lancang Cooperation continue to deepen and become more effective, Northern Thailand is expected to play an important role. It is expected that more Chinese companies will settle in Northern Thailand and play a role in the industrial upgrades and economic development of Northern Thailand.

    

    

    Governor Worayut and Vice Governor Ratapol expressed that Lamphun and Chiang Mai attach great importance to the development of friendly cooperation between Thailand and China. They welcome Chinese enterprises to invest in Northern Thailand and are willing to provide necessary support and convenience to Chinese investors. All participants in the forum conducted extensive and in-depth discussions on public rail transit, idea of smart and green city, industrial park, automobile manufacturing, and tourism development.
