On January 5, Consul General Wu Zhiwu visited Phayao and met with Mr. Narong Rojanasotorn, Governor of Phayao. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation between China and Northern Thailand.

On the same day, Consul General Wu Zhiwu, accompanied with the governor and the mayor of Phayao, visited Phayao Thai-Chinese association to attend the inauguration of the 28th term of the committee.
